We stayed several nights back in January 2005. We had a great time. The cabin and location are great. We also carried our Golden Retriever with us. She loved running in the woods and finding new territory to explore. While we were there we got a light covering of snow. It was just beautiful. We were hoping for some more snow, but we will be back as soon as we can. Maybe we'll get a good snow then. |

Hi. Spent 5 nights there and had hoped for 6 but weather had other plans....throughly enjoyed our stay and will definately be back...it was a much needed break....loved the seclusion and had snow the whole time....dog loved the snow and so did we......especially laying in the snow at night stargazing! awesome! Thank You allen and sue for everything....hope to see you soon! P.S. visitors must have chinese food at Brown's in Luray.....food is amazing and the people are really nice!

This is a great cabin in an idyllic location. It is secluded, spacious, picturesque, clean, and well-equipped. There is plenty to do in the immediate area such as hiking, playing in the stream, and looking for signs of wildlife. Our 4 and 5 year olds love the cabin as well. We have visited Bear Claw in Fall and Winter and look forward to future visits in the remaining seasons. We definitely recommend this cabin and this area. |

Bear Claw is easy to get to with excellent driving directions provided. The cabin is secluded; plenty of parking. The cabin itself is bright, fresh and clean with plenty of amenities and satellite television that really works! Nice furnishings, new appliances, and a fireplace with the flick of a switch. Nice sitting porch outside with old-fashioned rockers. The cabin itself is not far from picturesque Arrowhead Lake with a life-guarded beach and rental canoes during the summer. While I understand that the cabin derives its name from shy bear visitors, didn't see any while visiting. Plenty of places to walk the dogs outside and not far from town amenities and stores if you feel like a short car ride. All in all, a very pleasant blast to the past with all the creature comforts of home. Not to mention very gracious customer service from the owners -- the Painters -- which is not always a given. Hoping to become a frequent visitor |

Spent a great night at Bear Claw Cabin last December. We actually baked some Christmas cookies. Hated to leave the next morning, but someone else had already rented it, so we had to leave. Can't wait to stay there again sometime! |

Can't say enough about this beautiful cabin! We love visiting! Have been there twice and plan to visit again in 2004. Beautiful inside and out! Relaxing on the porch was one of our favorite things to do. So glad we found you! Can't wait to go back again! Oh and we saw bear too! :) |

We have stayed at Bear Claw Cabin at least 4 times since July 2002. There is nothing better than sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair, smelling the pine trees and enjoying a cup of something special while reading and just relaxing. Our dog Gensen got to see his first deer, sleep in front of a fireplace, and be a big happy dog out in the woods. The fully equipped kitchen, Digital TV and VCR as well as a closet full of games keep us fully satisfied no matter what the weather. And yes, we even saw a bear!!!! |
